Sustainability
Collgar is committed to conducting its operations in an environmentally and socially responsible manner, underpinned by strong governance. Maintaining awareness of environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities provides the foundation for stewarding Collgar’s activities in an ethical manner and aligned with its values.
In 2024, GRESB recognised Collgar Wind Farm as a global sustainability Sector Leader for the fourth year in a row and awarded Collgar with a 5-star rating for ESG management and performance.
Collgar uses these benchmarking results to evaluate material ESG factors and identify areas for improvement.
Our Targets

Collgar Renewables’ Net Zero Commitment
Collgar Renewables aims to be a leader in the development of low-carbon and net zero renewable energy projects. We are dedicated players in the transition towards a clean energy future.
Collgar Renewables is committed to responsible and sustainable development and operations that support the transition to a net zero economy. We are committed to ensuring group level emissions policies enable consistency and transparency and to establishing net zero targets and climate transition plans for each of our projects.
We are actively working to minimise the carbon footprint in our development and operational activities through:
- Driving development of a net zero target and climate transition plan for our existing
operating asset - Exploring the use of low-carbon materials, construction methodologies and on-site offsets
- Prioritising energy efficiency measures in project design and construction
- Partnering with suppliers who maintain sustainable practices
We are also committed to the following actions and initiatives to identify and progress decarbonisation opportunities across our projects:
- Integrating comprehensive carbon accounting and emissions reduction strategies into all new project developments
- Exploring partnerships with research institutions and technology providers to explore developing innovative decarbonisation solutions
- Engaging with communities to promote and maximise the social and economic benefits of our renewable energy projects
- Developing partnerships and collaborating with stakeholders to promote the call to urgent climate action and garner support for our goals
Environmental
As a leading-edge wind farm, Collgar Wind Farm provides a significant amount of clean energy for WA.
We are committed to minimising the impact of our operations on the environment and aim to establish practices which contribute to the sustainable production and consumption of energy underpinned by responsible procurement and business development decisions.
Collgar’s Energy Policy is aligned with ISO 50001:2018 and also reflects the UN’s recommendations for Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
Electricity production is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions. Approximately 49% of Australia’s greenhouse emissions come from the burning of fossil fuels to produce electricity.
One way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is to replace fossil fuels with a natural, renewable source of energy such as wind.
Initiatives to combat climate change, such as the Kyoto Protocol, have allowed wind energy to become the world’s fastest growing energy source, with currently more than 10,000 megawatts of capacity installed globally every year. The Western Australian State Government has chosen to support renewable energy by investing in wind energy, bringing to the state new job opportunities as well as clean electricity.
Social
Safety and wellbeing are at the forefront of our decision-making. This applies to the environment, the community, our people, and all those with whom we interact.
We take responsibility and accountability for safety within our sphere of operations.
Collgar submitted its first Modern Slavery Statement covering the 2022 reporting year.
In addition to supply chain engagement, Collgar is also reviewing procurement practices to improve transparency and mitigation of risks associated with modern slavery, materials sourcing, and materials efficiency.
Collgar recognises that managing modern slavery risks requires ongoing commitment and will continue to review, evaluate, improve, and evolve our risk management approach to ensure we strive toward best practices.

Governance
Collgar strives to always do the right thing and have the confidence to call out behaviours that do
not align with it’s values. Collgar is upfront, respectful and ethical in all our dealings, and communicates with openness, transparency, integrity and honesty.
Collgar is governed by its Board, who is responsible for the overall corporate governance of Collgar and for setting a culture which upholds Collgar’s values.
The Board and Leadership team are committed to ensuring appropriate policies provide an ethical roadmap for employees and that processes ensure compliance obligations are met.
